There is a paper called "Demoscene Platforms: A Case Study on the Adoption of Home Computers" by me and Antti, and another article about Finnish home computer collectors by Mikko Heinonen and me. Some other papers too may be of interest to demo researchers.

  • Apr 13th 2009. Ok, now we have some more info about the thesis, kindly provided by Daniel Botz. The PhD thesis was submitted last year at Ludwig-Maximilians University Munich and is yet to be reviewed. The name is Hacker-Ästhetik. Die geschichtlichen, technischen und gestalterischen Voraussetzungen zum Verständnis des Mediums Computerdemo (Hacker Aesthetics. Historical, technological and artistic premises of Computer Demos. The writer is looking for a publisher, so the text may end up being published as a book as well. We'll keep you updated when we know more!
