In case you missed Mindcandy 2: Amiga Demos, here’s good news for you. Since the DVD was sold out they decided to release it freely as a DVD image. Find more on the release here and the download here.

MindCandy 3 is out

After a long wait, the demo video collection MindCandy 3 is finally released, and will start shipping on Nov 25. Included are both a Blu-Ray disc and a DVD. The price in Europe is about 20 euros.

After a long wait we were happy to hear that Daniel Botz’s PhD thesis Kunst, Code un Maschine: Die Ästhetik der Computer-Demoszene is now available for purchase. Call for articles for a special issues on hacking

Critical Studies in Peer Production, a new online open access journal, is calling for articles for a special issue on the topic Expanding the frontiers of hacking. Bio-punks, open hardware and hackerspaces. Please note that the deadline for the abstracts is 10 July.

I wrote a bunch of scripts to visualize the Pouet.net database of demoscene productions. While there is a great number of limitations and pitfalls in them, this sort of graphs haven’t been presented anywhere so far. Check them out here!
